The Downside of GBS...

I have almost lost 70 lbs!!!! I am so close but as I mentioned before, there are some downsides to weight loss too. Right now my biggest challenges are finding clothes that fit more than 2-4 weeks and the excess skin. So I have decided that I will find people who can benefit and send them the clothes.  I currently have three people that I give clothes to and it makes me feel better knowing that someone can benefit from them!!! I am trying to utilize thrift stores and Plato's Closet but I also read some bad reviews on one particular PC that I will avoid.

We went to the Minnesota Science Museum today and my husband kept mentioning how hot I looked.  It was funny because I saw people actually noticing me. It was kind of embarrassing but it made me realize that I need to be more conscious of acknowledging people lest they be ignored.  I am such a people person that I generally don't know a stranger, but I have found that since I know what it is like to be "invisible" I am working extra hard to notice when someone is being ignored or just overlooked.  As sad as it seems, people do this without realizing it.

Back to clothes... My other vice is shoes and the downside of GBS is that I was a wide when I was heavy and I am back to a narrow in shoes.  Proving that the weight really is murder on your toesies.  So many of my shoes are one their way out.  However, DSW and Macy's aren't seeing me as often because I can wear Famous Footwear shoes now without paying extra or the wides. That is another down side... But once again, an area in which others can benefit!!!

Lately, I have been having gas, which is part of the bypass.  It sucks because I feel like a hot air balloon most of the time and it's really embarrassing!!! Plus I get bloated and then I am up in weight due to bloating and water weight... I can't swallow water pills so I am loading up on water in the hopes that I move this through in a timely manner!!! Bill laughs at me, but I am really self-conscious about it because I am not sure when it will ever end.

Another down side is that I have no clue what size I truly am!!! I measured a few weeks back but I am finding that clothing sizes vary once you get out of "plus" sizes... I do kind of remember that from my size 6 and 8 days in college, but then I could just wear jeans and a t-shirt most of the time.  That does not fly as a busy professional!!!

So in my downsides, there are many positives, the biggest one being the ability to give to others and inspire people to do what ever makes them happy!  Have a wonderful week and the beginning of fall!!!
