The third morning in an effort to get out of my cell- I mean hospital room- I decided to walk hard and far without a CNA. So I walked 1/2 a mile around the post op floor... No sooner had I come back than Dr. Kelly came by ( my surgeon) and told me he was impressed and letting me go home (did I mention that he starts rounding at 5 am?)... So as we waited for discharge papers, we started packing me up. Bill had to go to work so I was going to head home on my own. I had the choice to wait two hours and have the hospital fill my Meds or get a script from Dr. Kelly, sign my discharge papers and get the heck out of Dodge. I chose the later... As I was leaving, I was told by my nurse that I was the fastest discharge she'd ever had.
So I then drove with Bill to meet his coworker, Farley so they could head in to work. Two things I learned about driving home alone with some Meds still in you: 1) you are worse off than you think, 2) I won't ever do that again. When I made it home, I went in and napped for an hour before I dropped off my Rx to Pamida. I called before I headed back out to get the Rx because they are notorious for NOT having items ready in a timely manner. Once I found out they were ready, I went to get them, came home, took them and went to bed.
I received a text from Jill W. about food for Bill. She stopped by just when he was getting home. After she left I crashed back on the couch while Bill did something... I was too out of it to notice. I slept from 6:30 until 9 and did some homework and watched a movie. We decided to camp out in the living room because it was easier that way and went to sleep. However it did snow.... YUCK!
