Day 5: First Day Back At Work

Yeah... So I'm an overachiever... I started reading at 3, started piano lessons at 4, and learned to roller skate and ride my bike in one day. With that said, academic and professional achievement have been hard fought, but I manage to end up on top. I have met academic goals of graduating with honors and pursuing my doctorate. With that said, I don't expect less of myself and I certainly am not going to expect less in regards to my health. So I push, and push hard! I am the mom who was driving less than a week after a C-section and back to work (telecommuting) after Chloe was born. I say all this because I will never be able to take more than a few days off, because I would go NUTS. So I returned to work today... I was tired but I shocked and awed my students ( I think they were hoping for a day off... Yeah right). I said i would be back on Monday and so I was!!! But I am back in the saddle, albeit tired, but I am back and ready to face this challenge head on!!!

My mom had these words of advice that she sent in a text: "I am so impressed with you. What stamina! Don't push too far ok." I promised not to push too hard but explained that I can't just sit around. I love being PART of life!!!! She told me that she knew and that my energy level is on of my best characteristics. "You wouldn't be you in slow mode" and I shan't!!! Just call it "Ami in Fast Mode"!!! Vrooooooommmmm!!!! Keeps you young and happy!!!

While I applaud your desire to get back in the saddle, I'll caution you, from experience, to be very very careful not to overdo it. I'm glad to see that your journey is beginning so well!
