This past few months, in this journey, I have had many people contact me to talk about this entire journey. I have been incredibly blessed to have so many people who love and support me through this! From the great people at St. Paul Surgeons, who did my surgery and nutritional counseling, to my friends who openly shared with me about their journeys with various weight loss solutions and surgeries, I am truly grateful! I want to address something that has been mentioned to me about my blog. I want everyone to know that this blog is, yes, about me, but it is also about MY journey and my hope was that by writing about it, I would help others with their decision for or against a journey of their own. Since I am first and foremost an educator, and not only an educator, a HEALTH educator, I felt that it was important to share my struggles and my triumphs on this journey. In no way has this all about me. Believe me, it isn't easy to share about past relationships, hurts, vomiting, and self esteem, so transparently and to make myself so vulnerable. With that said, I will NOT be swayed from what I intended this blog to be, about the journey... I am a firm believer that is isn't about the destination, it is ALL about the journey. I find that as I share these things with my readers, that I am learning more and more about myself. If that bothers some of you, I am sorry, but I will not stop writing in an effort to appease you because there are so many people that can benefit from knowing the little things. I am just trying to pay it forward because of people like my friend Beth who encouraged me and shared the good, bad, and the ugly about bariatric weight loss. If I impact, just ONE person in some positive way, then it is worth all the blog posts in the world!
Blessings,
Ami
